Who we are
Sound Orchard believes that making music together can help create a more healthy, vibrant and connected community. Founded in 2015 and rooted in the rural northern California villages of West Marin, our mission is to build community through music.
Devi Daly, Executive Director/President
Devi Daly (Debbie) is a longtime music-maker, singer, and teacher of movement and voice who is passionate about creating community around musical arts and healing arts. She co-directs West Marin Choir and is a founding director of Sound Orchard along with Eleanor Despina and Pamela Wright.
Tim Weed, Creative Director
Tim is an accomplished musician on multiple levels. He is co-director of West Marin Choir and co-coordinator of the Miwok Music Project and Healing Music Project. He comes to Sound Orchard with many years of professional experience as a performing concert musician, recording artist, composer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist.
Jacob Leyva, ¡Cantemos Juntos!
Jacob was born in Mexico City but grew up traveling around the country of Mexico. His parents are musicians who influenced him from an early age with their love of Latin music. A singer and guitarist, he has an affinity for Cuban, Chilean and Mexican music from Vera Cruz.
Sarah Cane, Point Reyes Children's Choir
Sarah directs Young Musicians of West Marin, an independent organization fiscally sponsored by Sound Orchard that includes Pt. Reyes Children's Choir and Music-in-the School. She has been working with kids and music in the Bay Area for 30 years. She instills in children a love of music-making that incorporates movement, improvisation, and games into a curriculum focused on vocal musicianship and music literacy.
Larry Enos, Board Treasurer
Larry is the retired superintendent of two West Marin School districts. He and his wife Sally have been Inverness residents for 25 years and they raised their two children here. Larry is a founding member of West Marin Choir and he has been studying and creating vocal music his whole life. He serves on the board of West Marin Community Services and Sound Orchard.
Alison Wright, Board Secretary
Alison works in philanthropy, consulting with organizations defending natural resource rights, protecting environmental activists, and amplifying community and indigenous voices for global environmental justice. Alison grew up exploring the trails and beaches of Point Reyes National Seashore and is a co-founder of the Cairn Project, a nonprofit promoting outdoor activity for young women. Alison hails from a proud line of female musicians, and is a grateful alumnus of the San Francisco Girls Chorus.
