Virtual Harmonies Project
In the Covid-19 shutdown, Devi Daly and Sound Orchard have been experimenting with an iPhone app for small virtual choir projects called Acapella by Mixcord. Below are a few rough recordings that are now available for collaboration. This project is currently in experimental phase as we put feelers out to discover how many singers are up for working this way and navigating the app.
Goodnight Sweetheart
A West Marin Choir favorite - easy-to-learn barbershop-style harmonies.
Lean On Me
Devi's arranged this song a while back and revisited it for the virtual choir project in honor of the songwriter, Bill Withers who recently passed. The bottom right part is a bass part for a male singer, to be sung one octave lower.
Will the Circle Be Unbroken
(Advanced)
Devi collaborated with Ani Peterson on this incredible choir arrangement by J. David Moore. We do not have harmony parts broken out yet. For now, singers can import the song into your own Acapella account, then tinker with the volumes to hear the harmony part you want to work on.

Ready to jump in? Here's how it works!
1. Click the button below the video to start learning your preferred harmony part.
2. Download the app: Acapella by Mixcord. All our videos are snippets that are less than one minute long, so that folks using the free version of the app can participate.
3. Look up devidaly's profile on the app.
3. On the song you've chosen, click "Collaborate," which will import a copy of the song into your account.
4. Replace one of Devi's parts with your own voice.
(Recording Tips: Sing in a quiet room with no background noise and wear earbuds so the other parts don't bleed through into your recording. Smile while you sing. Prepare to do several takes until you end up with one that you're happy with)
5. Publish the collaboration, and you're done! We'll be thrilled to receive a notification of your success.
We look forward to hearing you. Contact us if you have questions.
